Redditch residents get safer stairs and walkways

Redditch Borough Council is dramatically reducing the risk of slip accidents on its stairways and walkways by installing Quartzdek, an ingenious slip resistant and waterproofing solution from Acrypol Products.

The two-phase residential project at the Winyates Centre and the Woodrow Centre, both Redditch Borough Council housing stock, comprised four important, heavily foot trafficked areas together with stairwells which have now been coated with Quartzdek.

Now chosen by many Local Authorities around the UK, Quartzdek is proven to improve residents’ safety by reducing the risk of slips on damp or wet surfaces, whilst giving improved aesthetic appeal and waterproofing qualities all in one product.

With many of the location’s public areas suffering from regular “ponding” as a result of heavy rainfall, the Council demanded high performance slip resistance and waterproofing qualities, Quartzdek was the answer – saving time and money when compared to the installation of two separate materials.

Quartzdek, was the ultimate solution and was specified by Reddich Borough Council’s Surveyor with over 1500 SqM  installed, to the large number of stair wells and a massive network of public areas and access routes regularly used by the residents at the Winyates and Woodrow Centres.

Quartzdek, exclusively from solutions specialists, Acrypol Products combines real quartz granules and a super-tough waterproof resin in one product. It is regularly specified by public sector specifiers for walkways, balconies, stairs and risers where a safe pedestrian surface is required.
