LifeScan

Client: Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd
Project: LifeScan
Product: Metal-Kote

A life saving Metal-Kote operation has successfully treated a cancerous rust problem for a pharmaceutical giant.

Like many plastic-coated metal roofs, the cut edges on the companyʼs Inverness plant, which manufactures diabetes testing equipment, had started to rust badly and delaminate. In an industry where good housekeeping and impeccable public image is paramount, immediate action.

Faced with the prospect of a huge bill to replace it, Johnson & Johnson turned to Acrypol to prescribe the perfect cost-effective antidote.

Metal-Kote has dramatically increased the roofʼs life expectancy at a fraction of the cost of a complete replacement. The easy to apply solution also ensured there was no intrusion into the buildingʼs sterile environment, allowing business to continue as usual – critical for any pharmaceutical company.

In total, a massive 5000 square metres of brown Metal-Kote was applied in a single coat by Acrypolʼs own Contract Service Specialist team. Prior to this the entire roof was washed down and remedial work carried out on the rusted ends.

Even in the demanding climate of northern Scotland, this controlled application promises Johnson & Johnson a 10 year material and labour guarantee.
