Even in the unpredictable climate of the Scottish West Coast, Acrypol's Nu-Life coating has ensured vibrantly coloured roofing tiles have stood the test of time for nearly a decade.

More than eight years after the revolutionary product was applied to old roofing at the 1960s–built Macrihanish housing estate, the distinctive red and brown tiles have retained their natural warmth and lustre.

A private consortium that had taken over the properties thought the original tiles, now faded and grey, were detracting from the appearance of the estate for the leisure and holiday home markets. However, they did not want to replace them, as they were still watertight and had many years of useful life remaining.

Instead, the new owners piloted the latest coating from roof protection expert Acrypol on over 100 homes in the highly scenic area.

The results were stunning, with the houses returned to their natural beauty through a combination of green, red and terracotta shades to blend with the surrounding landscape.
